Thank you to all of the families who stopped by Lincoln Way East this past Saturday to support Artworks 2018! Congratulations to all of the young artists featured in the show. You made Manhattan proud! Check out some pictures of Manhattan's display below.
It is my goal to introduce students to a wide variety of art mediums, including graphic arts! There are so many fantastic free websites out there! 7th Grade used piskelapp.com to create character animations. I am blown away by their talent and creativity! 8th grade painted beautiful digital landscapes using pixlr.com/editor. The best part is students can continue to use their new skills at home with these free websites :)
We have been busy creating at Anna Mac! Here are a few examples of the fun projects we have made so far this year. This week we are making t-shirts with puzzle piece prints for Primetime! I love seeing the unique designs students are coming up with :)
To kick off the new school year MJH students were asked to create a work of art that they connected to personally. They were also asked to explore different art mediums and select at least 2 when creating their artwork.
7th Grade chose lyrics that were meaningful to them and created a mixed media art piece inspired by the song. 8th Grade was asked illustrate a favorite memory by cutting up old maps and using art mediums of their choice. Here are some final pieces: |
